Overview of the Lasso 2.5.1 Update
The Lasso 2.5.1 Update addresses the following issues:
• Using -search in an image tag is now functional.
• -opEnd and -opBegin are no longer stripped if no value is issued in the next/prev tags.
• Malformed conditional statements no longer cause Lasso to break in the debugger.
• Memory leaks in Encoding and Decoding UTF strings have been patched.
• A conflict between WebTen 2.0 and Lasso's RFC1123 date resources has been resolved.
• An obscure problem with the Lasso Server resulting in Type 1 or 2 errors has been fixed.
• Some inconsistencies with the strings tags were corrected.
• Two copies of Lasso 2.5.1 may now reside on the same CPU using a single serial number (see below).
Updating Lasso 2.5 to Version 2.5.1
The Lasso 2.5.1 Update works with any installed edition of Lasso 2.5 and is
comprised of the following files:
• LassoCommonCode, to replace the one located in the Web server folder.
• Lasso_Tags.mod, to replace the one installed in the "Lasso Modules" folder.
• String_Tags.mod, to replace the one installed in the "Lasso Modules" folder.
The Lasso 2.5.1 Server Update also contains the following:
• Lasso Server 2.5.1 patch, to update your Lasso 2.5 Server application.
New License Agreement
Effective with this release, registered Lasso 2.5.1 users may install and run up to two copies of Lasso 2.5.1 on a single CPU with a single serial number as follows:
Lasso 2.5.1 CGI/Plug-in Edition
1 CGI and 1 Plug-in or 2 CGIs or 2 Plug-ins
Lasso 2.5.1 Server Edition
2 Lasso 2.5.1 Servers
Note: One cannot install 1 Lasso CGI or Plug-in edition and 1 Lasso Server edition application on the same CPU using the same serial number. As the CGI/Plug-in and Server editions are in essence separate products, an additional serial number is needed to operate both editions on the same CPU.
Using Two Copies of Lasso 2.5.1 on a Single CPU
Lasso 2.5.1 CGI
Depending upon your configuration and needs, you may configure up to two Web servers (e.g. non-SSL and SSL) to communicate with a single copy of Lasso 2.5.1 CGI, or install and use two copies of Lasso 2.5.1 CGI, one with each Web server.
In no event should the LassoCommonCode file or Lasso Module folder be shared or aliased across servers. Doing so can cause a crash (basically beyond Lasso's control).
Lasso 2.5.1 Plug-in
The Lasso 2.5.1 Plug-in can be used with two Web servers running on the same CPU, as long as individual copies of the Lasso Plug-in, LassoCommonCode and Lasso Modules (as well as all modules contained within) folder are used for each Web server and installed as described in the Lasso 2.5 User Guide.
Aliases mirroring all root level files and folders from one server to the other can be used in cases where the root folders must be identical for both Web servers. In no event should the Lasso Plug-in, LassoCommonCode or Lasso Module folder be shared or aliased across servers. Doing so can cause a crash (basically beyond Lasso's control).
Lasso 2.5.1 Server
Install two separate copies of the entire Lasso 2.5.1 folder as instructed in the Lasso 2.5 User Guide. Be sure to set the servers to different ports. Failing to do so may cause a crash (basically beyond Lasso's control).
